Applied Kinesiology
Muscle testing to hear what the body is already telling us.
Applied Kinesiology (AK) uses manual muscle testing as a functional assessment tool — a way to see how the nervous system, joints, and organ reflexes are actually responding, in real time. It informs which technique, contact, or nutritional support the body is asking for.
How it works
Dr. Sweeney tests specific muscles while introducing a stimulus — a joint contact, a nutrient, an eye or head position — and reads the change in muscle response. Findings are combined with exam and imaging to shape the care plan, so nothing is done on guesswork.
Questions we hear
About Applied Kinesiology
- Is Applied Kinesiology a treatment?
- It's primarily a diagnostic and decision-making tool. It tells us which of the other techniques or supports the body is asking for on a given day.
Think Applied Kinesiology might be the right fit?
You don't have to be certain. Dr. Sweeney will confirm on the first visit — and choose a different tool if it isn't.
